Teeth Whitening
A bright, white smile can make a huge difference in your appearance and therefore dramatically impact your personal and professional life. No matter how often you brush or floss, your teeth gradually darken over time - especially if you drink hot or iced tea, coffee, red wine, or soda. Similarly, using tobacco products will take its toll on the health and beauty of your smile. But it’s not just tea or wine that can stain your teeth-even foods like strawberries, blueberries, tomatoes and beets can play a role in staining. But don’t worry; we don’t want you to stop eating your fruits and vegetables! Fortunately, there are fast and efficient ways to whiten your teeth without having to give up your favorite foods!
At A Glowing Smile Dental Care, we offer two very effective methods to brighten your teeth and give you something to smile about!
In-Office Teeth Whitening
For those patients who have an immediate desire for brighter, whiter teeth, we offer an in-house whitening treatment at our Peoria, AZ dental office that effectively power-bleaches the enamel on your teeth, resulting in a brighter smile in just 60 minutes!
Our dental professionals skillfully apply a concentrated bleaching gel to each tooth, followed by powerful light treatment. The entire process takes less than an hour and our patients are happy with the immediate results! After the bleaching treatment, you can opt to follow up with our second whitening treatment, which is a custom tray that is made to fit your exact bite.
Custom-Made Whitening Trays
Unlike over-the-counter whitening trays, our custom trays are made from an exact mold of your teeth, resulting in a precise and comfortable fit. Our bleaching gel is more concentrated than the over-the-counter gels and therefore whitens your teeth faster and more effectively. After our dental professionals make your custom tray, you will apply the concentrated bleaching gel to the tray and wear them once or twice a day, for 30 minutes, for 1-2 weeks.
Your trays may be re-used for months or even years, so you will only ever need more gel if you wish to repeat the whitening process!
Potential Side Effects
Most patients can whiten their teeth with few side effects. It is important, however, to follow the instructions exactly. Using too much gel or leaving your trays in for too long may cause sensitivity or gum irritation. If this occurs, just take a break for a day or two. Sensitivity will subside and you can resume your whitening treatment. If sensitivity continues, leave a day or two between treatments. You can take an over-the-counter pain medication until it subsides. We also offer fluoride treatments or desensitizing gel to help you whiten your teeth comfortably.
